A Prayer for the Dying by Jack Higgins
Hardcover, UK | Rare 1st Edition | 1st Printing | 1973 | Publisher: William Collins Sons & Co Ltd
A scarce and highly collectable first edition from Jack Higgins (Harry Patterson) — the hugely successful thriller writer who became one of the world's best-known authors with The Eagle Has Landed (1975), which sold over 50 million copies and was adapted into a major film. A Prayer for the Dying was published two years before The Eagle Has Landed made Higgins a household name, and features Martin Fallon, an IRA assassin trying to leave the organisation, entangled in a dangerous moral labyrinth. The novel was later adapted into a film starring Mickey Rourke and Bob Hoskins. A first edition from 1973, the year before Higgins's breakthrough, is genuinely rare and collectible. Published by William Collins Sons & Co Ltd.
